If the sensors are sited more than 1 meter above the floor, there won’t be enough time for anyone in the area to react before the depleted air reaches a ordinary person’s breathing zone.

Sensors placed near areas where liquid nitrogen is frequently handled or stored are also essential to monitor any leaks or increases in nitrogen concentration in the environment.
